Refreshing Fruits Dessert

Refreshing Fruits Dessert

The weather has been kinda weird lately. It got warmer last weekend and suddenly it was raining on Wednesday. I was so glad when it finally rained because this year California is experiencing the most severe drought ever.

Have you heard about Crisp™ Cooking? Crispâ„¢ is kitchen tools for healthy eating. They have lots of fancy tools, from vegetable preparation tools to cleaning tools. I really like their lettuce knife, wavy knife, and melon knife. How cool are these tools! But today, I’ll be talking about the melon baller. The Crispâ„¢ Cooking melon baller and huller is a 3-in-1 multi-use kitchen tool featuring 3 sizes of serrated and smooth scoops for fruit preparation.

Refreshing Fruits DessertThis bright, colorful, and fun kitchen gadget is perfect for creating a delicious melon salad or a picturesque bowl of melon balls. The Crisp™ melon baller comes with three scoopping options: small, large, and serrated. Each scoop is uniquely designed with a hole for easy release of the melon ball. The handle is soft for comfortable grip. This melon baller also features an innovative rotating design that provides convenient storage in-between uses. Not only does the rotating design minimize the amount of melon tools you will need, but the different sizes of the small and large scoops allow you to create beautiful melon ball presentations for parties and dinner events. The serrated scoop option also provides an excellent way to hull strawberries or tomatoes. The serrated edges neatly grip and remove strawberry hulls in one fluid motion. Combined with the easy-to-grasp soft touch handle and dishwasher-safe status, this handy kitchen gadget makes the perfect tool for chefs of all experience levels!

Refreshing Fruits DessertWhen I was still a child, my mom used to make this drink. Not quite sure where she got the original recipe from, but I really like it because it is so refreshing and easy to make. The best part is that you can involve your kids in the making with this melon baller. I use three kinds of fruits to make it colorful – melon, honeydew, and watermelon. I made use of all the three scoops so the fruit balls ended up in different sizes. To add more fun, I used basil seeds. Basil seeds is very popular in Asia and it is perfect to consume during Summer time as it will make your body cool.

Refreshing Fruits DessertAnd Summer will be more fun with new items from Crispâ„¢, like this dual juicer that fits most sizes of citrus fruits, allowing you to squeeze fresh and tasty juice in anyway you like it; garlic press that makes quick and easy work of mincing; and strawberry slicer that allows you to easily create a deliciously tasty snack. I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward for more colorful salad this Summer.

Ingredients

  • 11/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 (13.05 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 tbs basil seeds, dissolve in 1 cup cold water
  • Your favorite fruits – I use combination of melon, honeydew, and watermelon

Instructions

  1. Add the water and sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and add coconut milk. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Combine the fruits with basil seeds and coconut milk mixture. Keep in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours or until it is cold. It tastes way better when it’s nicely chilled.

Such a gorgeous dessert Linda, and so simple. I’ve never used basil seeds, and from the picture thought it was chia, then looked at your recipe. I’m intrigued!

Whoa, that thing is really cool! I want to do stuff like this but never wanted to bother with melons; that looks like it’d make things much easier. =)
